Here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions from our clients at Rhodes Self Storage, as well as everything else you need to know!
During office hours - the gate and roller shutters are open and all you need is your padlock key or code.
Outside of office hours - you will need to input your access code into the access panel to open and close the gate and roller shutters.
Whenever you need to during our Access Hours - 6am till 10pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
NO ONE - You are the only one who has access to your storage unit, as you will be the only one with a key to your padlock. We do not hold a key to your storage unit.
YES - you can provide authority for your selected people when you sign your RSS Storage Agreement. All you need to do is complete our authority form with the names of people you would like to access your unit.
NO - As our location is zoned residential, access is only between 6am and 10pm, 7 days.
It is recommended you only give your code to the people you have authorised in writing to access your unit. If you do give your code out, it is best to advise us via email that you have done so.
NO PROBLEM - We can remind you of your code, but for security reasons, you will need to answer some security questions.
At RSS we have a wide range of packing materials available for purchase, including new and second hand boxes, mattress protectors, bubble wrap, sofa protectors, dining chair covers, tape dispensers, wrapping paper, padlocks, tape and marker pens.
No - sorry we do not deliver. You can also Click & Collect or phone your order through and we will have it ready for you to pick up, and our staff will even give you a hand to your car!
The cost of self-storage space depends on the size of space you require. We have many different sizes of storage units ranging from 1 to 70 square metres. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss or hit the "Find a Storage Unit" button on the home page and have a look at what we have available.
NO - There are no extra charges or hidden fees.
NO - You are not automatically covered.
Goods stored at RSS are stored at your sole risk; the facility owner is not liable for the loss of any goods stored on its premises. This is stated in the terms of the Standard Self Storage Agreement to be signed prior to move in.
However some Insurance companies may cover your contents whilst in storage. So please check with your Home and Contents Policy.
Once you have made your decision simply give us a call. We will send you a link either via txt or email so you can fill in and sign our Storage Agreement. You choose the date and make payment of your first month and then you can simply load your car, truck or trailer and bring it in.

NO - we no longer provide a move in service.
For small to medium move ins we recommend George from The Little Green Truck Ph:0452 547 336. He will either use his ute or collect our purpose built storage trailer and help you load and unload.

YES - We have trolleys and dollies available for your use.
Payment is made monthly in advance on a renewable contract. We will send you a link where you can fill in a sign our Storage Agreement. During this process you provide your credit card details and your first monthly payment is processed. Payments are then processed on a monthly basis until you are ready to move out. Each month you will receive a receipt so you know your payments are up to date.
For your safety all credit card details are encryted and kept on our cloud based software.
Your access to your goods may be restricted and you may be charged a late fee. Please ensure your credit card details are up to date. If your credit card expires or changes send us an email or call to advise us and we will send you link to update your credit card details so no payments are missed and you maintain access to your goods.
YES – We have a 24hr surveillance with security systems and procedures in place to ensure the security of the facility and your belongings, including:
Video Surveillance System
Access Control System – a PIN access system for entry by customers only with 24-hour security response monitoring
External Sensor Lighting
Daily Unit Audit and Lock Integrity Checks
With your own padlock. We have keyed and combination locks available to purchase from our store.
NO - Self-storage means that you pack your unit with your goods, you lock the unit with your own padlock and hold the key or code. We do not hold a key to your storage unit.
YES – You will need to sign a Self-Storage Agreement as per the Self-Storage Association of Australia guidelines.
One month is the minimum rental period.
One month - and continues on a month-by-month basis until you give us 14-days notice to move out. You are not locked into a contract – there is no fixed period. You can move out whenever you want and we will refund any funds paid past your move-out date.
Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials and perishables are not allowed. If you are unsure of any specific item please contact us and we can confirm if it can be stored in a storage facility.
We have many different sizes of storage units ranging from 1sqm lockers to 70sqm mini warehouses.

If you reserve a unit and then find when you arrive with your goods that it is too small or too big, we will transfer you to an appropriate size unit to accommodate your goods (subject to availability).
YES - You can transfer to another storage unit, subject to availability. Any prepaid rent will be credited to the new storage unit.
If you run out of space, you can either move your goods into a larger unit, or rent an additional storage unit.
YES – We have storage lockers and small storage units. Lockers are 1 cubic metre (1m x 1m x 1m) which are ideal for a couple of bags and some personal possessions whilst you travel or relocate.
NO – unfortunately we do not have any space (hardstand) for storage of vehicles or boats etc.
